The Coming Global Shift
Geopolitical Blog #1
THE PURPOSE OF THIS GEOPOLITICAL BLOG
As a Bible teacher and shepherd, I have studied the End Times consistently for 25 years. My conviction is that the End-Time storyline and scenario is clear in the Bible so that the Church can prepare and partner with Jesus in them. The focus of End Time events revolve around Jerusalem as the epicenter and go out from there concentrically to include Israel and the Middle Eastern nations. The Antichrist and his armies along with the 10-nation confederation will surround Jerusalem in a military conquest. During this siege against Jerusalem, Jesus will return to rescue Israel and judge the Antichrist and the nations that have joined with him. For this scenario to take place, a number of geopolitical events must take place with the primary one being the rebirth of the state of Israel as a sovereign nation which occurred in 1948. This prophetic miracle creates the context for the End Time events to unfold.
Another significant geopolitical event that must take place is the shift in the balance of global power from the West to the East if the Biblical End Time scenario is going to take place. From my perspective, global dominance will be centralized in the Middle East and possibly the greater East so that no nation including America or Europe is able to interfere with the Antichrist. I have been waiting and teaching this for 25 years and until now, this shift of power seemed impossible. The Western nations have controlled the world with their economic, political and military dominance. However, in the past 3-4 years, a serious viable challenge has come forth to end the hegemony of western dominance.
There is a grand prophetic Biblical metanarrative that allows and makes sense of the many global alliances, strategies, trends and events that are transpiring at an exponential rate. Many of these major global players have openly stated their goals but they are not well known or understood by those in the West. In this geopolitical blog, I want to examine these topics, nations and global participants that are shaping our world in significant and dramatic ways. My aim is that we can make sense of these events as we interpret them through the lens of the Bible to bring hope and courage for the days ahead!
LIVING UNDERSTANDING
When Jesus taught on the End Times in the Apocalyptic Discourse in Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 17 and 21, He also gave clear warnings to watch global trends and events with a prophetic spirit and to be on the alert for the changes that are coming. Inherent to understand is that Jesus’ teaching is not just information to agree with but the reason He gave it was so that the Church would have living understanding. More than just intellectual agreement or theological knowledge, we want to shape our values and the core of how we live by the teachings of Christ. Having living understanding of the prophetic scriptures lights our path forward, gives us wisdom how to make decisions and comforts our hearts in the days we live in. The Church is called to live in the light and to be a prophetic voice to the world.
“What I say to you I say to all, ‘Be on the alert!’” (Mark 13:37 NASB)
“Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. (Mark 13:33 NKJV)
“Behold, I have told you in advance. (Matt 24:25)
I believe that God is in the midst of raising up forerunners and people of understanding with a spirit of wisdom to prepare the Church for the events of the coming days. They will carry living understanding of the times and seasons in which God, the Devil and all humanity must traverse. The Old Testament bears witness of God raising up men and women of understanding in times of shaking. In 1 Chronicles 12, they are called the “sons of Issachar” who understood the times and gave direction to what Israel should do. Interestingly, the Bible tells us that there were only 200 chiefs of the sons of Issachar, an almost insignificant remnant compared to the other tribes and Israel as a whole. The other group referenced in the Bible are called “the Maskilim” in Daniel 11:35. These are the ones who have “insight among the people” to give understanding to the many.
Of the sons of Issachar, men who understood the times… (1 Chronicles 12:32)
My desire and prayer for this geopolitical blog is that God will use the topics, analysis, interpretations and Biblical exegesis to equip and prepare the Body of Christ to gain living understanding. God has called the Church of Jesus Christ to live victoriously over the spirit of this age and to let our light shine unto the salvation of the nations and ultimately, Israel. It is unto this glorious prophetic future that I submit these articles and dedicate this blog. Thank you for taking time to engage with this material. May the Lord bless you and cause His face to shine upon you!
